Words not to be forgotten

Kids butcher words in their quest to master pronunciation. But soon enough I know that Mats will move on and some of these Mats-isms will be lost. So here, for all posterity, a few "words" that we hope never to forget completely:

- "Duts" = stuuk (broken) - unfortunately already a word of the past

- "Doten" = Cadeautjes (presents/gifts) - a favorite since his birthday and experiencing a grand revival with the holidays

- "Papeekaka"= Paprika (sometimes it gets even more syllables now that he has figured out that it makes us laugh)

- "Ankelen" = Aankleden (to get dressed)

- "Groelala" = Groene Salade (green salad)

As parents, of course, we think it is incredibly cute and incorporate these new words into our own lingo (something I swore I would never do). Trust me - it's much cuter coming from a 2-year-old.
