Mats does Mexico
For those of you wondering about travel in Mexico with a toddler, here are a few of the highlights, from Mats´ perspective:
Fountains: What´s not to like? Water shooting up in the air, a square to run around in, and if you are lucky (and in Guadalajara) horse-drawn carriages in the background. I think we counted 17 in one day in Guadalajara. Not quite as many here in Guanajuato, but it´s very fun to see if they are ¨awake¨ or ¨asleep¨.
Busses: Very exciting - there are big busses and little busses. And some of the big busses have headsets. But some of them don´t, and you always have to double-check each seat to see.
Stones: There are rocks and stones of all shapes and sizes just lying around here. When the pockets are full, you can always give them to mom and dad to carry.
Exotic birds: Joost took Mats to a park in Guadalajara that had parrots. Parrots have now surpassed pigeons as Mats´ favorite bird. Now every bird we hear or see must be classified: Parrot or just a bird.
Elmo: Here we are in Guanajuato for the Cervantes Festival, and the highlight of Mats´ day was an Elmo sighting. He told Nijntje about it at least 5 times today when he was supposed to be napping.
As you can see, he is not bored!
