Child labor
Mats has a penchant for all things mechanical. It must have skipped a generation from his Grandpa, because Lord knows he didn't get it from either Joost or me. I recently ordered Mats a new toddler chair since getting him in and out of a highchair would now require double-jointed knees. Of course it arrived flat-pack with oh-so-easy-to-follow directions (keys are dripping with sarcasm). Mats got so frustrated watching me put it together, that he grabbed the screwdriver and said "Nee, mama - Mats doen. Zo moet ie." (""No mama, Mats do. This is how you do it.)
Great - now I just need to send him to handyman training and I'll never have a squeeking door or picture hanging lopsided again!
