Train obsession

I think Mats has something from his Uncle Paul (never mind that there are no genes in common): he is obsessed with trains. When we go to the zoo, all he wants to do is ride on the train. So I made him his own train. While it is a little cheaper than "Little Puffer" at the zoo, it does require significantly more mommy-power.


And remember the "good old days" when Mats was content thinking that Thomas the Tank Engine alone constituted a train? (See post from April 29, 2007) Those days are gone. I finally broke down and bought Mats some additional cars so that he wouldn't be the weird kid growing up not understanding the very fundamental premis of trains. And he has really embraced the concept of multiple cars and will build "trains" out of just about anything. See exhibit A:
